“Ah. I smiled. I'm not really here to keep you from freaking out. I'm here to be with you while you freak out, or grieve or laugh or suffer or sing. It is a ministry of presence. It is showing up with a loving heart.”― Kate Braestrup, Here If You Need Me

Hello! I’m Rev. Dr. Nori J Rost and I’m thrilled to be your candidate for settled minister serving the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lawrence. Already, one of my sisters and my mom live in Lawrence, along with several nieces and their families scattered along the region. It is already my second home. I’m not trying to brag, but I already own an LFK hoodie! Also, when I was visiting for my pre-candidating weekend with your fabulous Search Team, I was inspired to pick up these napkins which say “Home is where you ROCK CHALK. So now I’m also prepared for entertaining!

By now you’ve read some information about me from the Search Team so you already know quite a bit of information about me. This website is designed to fill in the blanks and give you an idea of who I am in all my technicolor glory! The following pages share everything from sermons I’ve preached, to social justice actions I’ve done to more informal information about me. You won’t want to miss the Minister’s Pajama Chats; I can tell you that right now!

In the section on Leadership and Connection in the Time of COVID, I included several sermons that I did while “on the road.” Taking advantage of the lockdown, I did what I like to call a car Camino, and traveled around the nation, speaking each Sunday from different locations. Be sure to check those out, too! I even preached one Sunday from the Eldridge Hotel!

So, thanks for checking out my website. I can’t wait to meet you when I’m there for my candidating week And ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
